Nook IQ

(UI/UX Design, Identity Design, Digital Kiosk Design).

Nexus Kiosk turns everyday park walks into legally binding votes that fix real neighborhood problems. From potholes to noise, in days, not months. With a solar-powered hexagonal kiosk, Pulse Band, and free Civic OS app, every resident can report, vote, and see transparent results instantly. No more endless emails or ignored complaints. Just fair, fast governance that HOA and city actually enforce.

What if your next dog walk could legally fix the problem?

Neighborhoods, Cities, and Parks are always facing the frustration of slow decisions, endless emails, and unheard voices.

01: What Is It?

02: How it works

Solar powered hexagonal hub with private voting and public transparency. A physical touchpoint for governance.

Vote, report, learn impact, and participate; right where issues exist. The honeycomb logo shape directly inspired the Nexus Kiosk’s physical form. The hexagon symbolizes:Equality, Balance, and modular participation.

03: Screens

Everything on the Nexus Kiosk can be sent to the Nook IQ Civic OS app.

This project isn’t about technology; it’s about restoring trust, visibility, and agency. If people can tap to vote, they’re no longer ignored. Governance becomes something you participate in, not something done to you.

04: User Journeys

Alex, a resident, walks her dog daily in the HOA park. She spots a dangerous pothole; the kind that’s been ignored for months.

Alex taps her Pulse Band on the hexagonal nexus kiosk. She votes YES on the auto generated proposal. The Next day, HOA + City crew fixes it.

Nick’s street is disrupted by a loud late night party. The Next day, Nick taps the Nexus Kiosk and votes to enforce quiet hours.

That night, the music stops. Nick gets a notification: “Quiet hours restored.”From noise to peace in 24 hours, it shows real governance, no conflict.

05: Ecosystem

06: Logo

Governance should feel clear, neutral, and empowering, not emotional or chaotic. I chose to take inspiration from Müller-Brockmann; Swiss style for its: Structure, Objectivity, Trust, and Clarity. It removes bias and centers the message; not authority. Yellow signals visibility, optimism, and civic alertness. The honeycomb represents collective effort; individual actions forming a system.
